1. Introduction

Welcome to Salaam Tours ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website (www.salaamtours.com) and our tour services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making any booking or using our services.

Salaam Tours is a registered tour operator based in Zanzibar, Tanzania, specializing in cave experiences, cultural tours, spice farm visits, prison island tours, stone town walking tours, safari blue excursions, and transfer services across Zanzibar.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Booking Confirmation: A booking is confirmed only after you have completed the online booking form and received a confirmation email from Salaam Tours with your unique booking reference.

2.2 Payment Methods: We accept the following payment methods:

  • Online Payment via DPO (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Cash Payment on Arrival (for selected tours)
  • Bank Transfer (for group bookings)

2.3 Pricing: All prices listed on our website are in US Dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Prices include all applicable taxes and government fees. Prices are subject to change without notice, but once your booking is confirmed, the price is guaranteed.

2.4 Deposits: For some tours, a deposit may be required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid before the tour commences, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

3.1 Cancellation by Customer:

  • More than 7 days before tour: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
  • 3-7 days before tour: 50% refund
  • Less than 48 hours before tour: No refund
  • No-show: No refund

3.2 Cancellation by Salaam Tours: We reserve the right to cancel any tour due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, political instability, or safety concerns. In such cases, you will receive:

  • Full refund of all payments made
  • Option to reschedule to another available date at no extra cost
  • Alternative tour of equal value (subject to availability)

3.3 Refund Processing: Refunds will be processed within 7-14 business days from the date of cancellation approval. Refunds will be made using the original payment method.

4. Customer Responsibilities

4.1 Accurate Information: You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when making a booking, including passenger names, contact details, pickup locations, and special requirements.

4.2 Travel Documents: It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity), visas, and any other required travel documents for your trip.

4.3 Health and Fitness: Some tours may require a reasonable level of physical fitness. You should consult your doctor before booking if you have any medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate.

4.4 Punctuality: Please be ready at your designated pickup location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Our drivers will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. Failure to be punctual may result in cancellation of your tour without refund.

4.5 Behavior: We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate a tour without refund if a customer engages in disruptive, offensive, or dangerous behavior that affects the safety or enjoyment of others.

5. Our Responsibilities

5.1 Service Delivery: We commit to providing the tours and services as described on our website with reasonable care and skill. However, we cannot guarantee that all aspects of a tour will be exactly as described due to factors beyond our control.

5.2 Safety: Customer safety is our highest priority. We comply with all local safety regulations and maintain our vehicles and equipment to the highest standards. However, you acknowledge that some activities carry inherent risks, and you participate at your own risk.

5.3 Communication: We will provide timely updates regarding your booking, including pickup confirmation, itinerary changes, and any important information related to your tour.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salaam Tours shall not be liable for:

  • Any personal injury, death, loss, or damage arising from participation in tours
  • Loss or damage to personal belongings during tours or transfers
  • Delays, cancellations, or changes caused by weather, natural disasters, strikes, or other force majeure events
  • Any indirect or consequential losses

Our total liability for any claim arising from your booking shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant tour or service.

7. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms if the delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God (earthquakes, floods, storms, etc.)
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest, or political instability
  • Government regulations or restrictions
  • Strikes or labor disputes
  • Power outages or technical failures
  • Epidemics or pandemics

In such circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule your tour or provide a refund at our discretion.
